So, it’s no secret that I’m smitten with our neighborhood of Tremont. One of my favorite things about living here is the Tuesday Farmer’s Markets.
From 4-7, in Lincoln Park, vendors set up their tents and sell locally grown vegetables and fruits as well as farm fresh eggs, cheese and meats. Other vendors sell handmade goods and items like tea and soaps. Various food trucks line West 14th street, selling fast, affordable and delicious grub so you can eat while you shop. Lots of people bring their dogs and kids and set up blankets and listen to live music. It’s an awesome little ritual and creates a strong sense of community.
Mike and I try to make trips to the market a special little routine– it’s one of my favorite things to do.
This past Tuesday was the Safety Fest as well, so there was even more going on than usual.
I love going to the Market– people watching, talking to the vendors, and sampling the food, but going home and cooking the food is also awesome.
We picked up a variety of things this week– beets and sun-dried tomato & mozzarella pierogies made it into our dinner that night.
While the food was grilling, Denver chewed on things in the driveway and Mike & drank some beer and took some photos. It was a lovely summer night.
After dinner, we strolled over to my favorite ice cream shop in town, Churned, and then sat on the porch and relaxed.
Looking forward to the long holiday weekend! Hope you have something fun planned!
Until next time.
